Services

If you think you might have dyslexia or another form of SpLD/ Neurodiversity and you would like to know for certain, or if you would simply like to know more about how you process information, a diagnostic assessment will give you the answers. We offer assessments for individuals of all ages, from children to adults.

Children:

For some children, despite targeted support, they struggle with aspects of their learning and fall behind their peers at school. This can lead to feelings of frustration, failure, and a lack of confidence. These learning difficulties might relate to reading, writing, spelling, or broader aspects of learning like sequencing, memory, or processing speed.

In all cases, the first person to speak to would be the school’s SENCO. They can advise and might provide a dyslexia screener. They may recommend a diagnostic assessment with a specialist assessor.

An assessment for dyslexia investigates all these areas to identify a child’s strengths and difficulties, enabling personalized recommendations for home and school. Dyslexia assessments can be completed for children from the age of 7 years old, and a diagnosis lasts for life.

Adults:

Moving to university? then transitioning to work? Reasonable adjustments are steps that can be taken to help a student gain the most from their strengths and their ability to think differently, whilst helping to minimise the weaknesses. These adjustments will vary according to the individual student's needs, or course of study and the environment. The types of reasonable adjustment that might be considered within the context of university could include:

Examinations

            •           Extra time

            •           Use of a computer

            •           Use of a separate room

            •           Consideration for spelling and punctuation

Lectures

            •           Permission to record the lecture

            •           Handouts provided in advance

If you are a University Student, you may be eligible for Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA).

You are assured of a quality assessment and report by coming to us.  Our diagnostic assessments will identify whether there is evidence for dyslexia, dyspraxia (or Developmental Coordination Disorder – DCD), dysgraphia, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD*), or other types of neurodivergent profile.

*18+. Diagnosis of a specific learning difference with the characteristics of ADHD are made for the basis of exam access arrangements and discussion and adoption of relevant coping strategies. This is not a medical diagnosis.

"Many thanks for this email and report. This is an outcome we suspected so we are grateful for the detailed information and will pass it on to the respective teams and individuals. Hopefully, this assessment will mean we can support Orin fully and effectively going forward ensuring the best outcomes for him in future life.

It was lovely to meet you and would certainly recommend your services to other parents if asked."

"I just got in contact with the advisor in my college. I just wanted to thank you so much for your work, this assessment just answered so many questions.

All the best,"

Thank you Deborah.
While we had no idea and never suspected this, it explains so much around xxxx's struggles to date. And while this is of course disappointing to be told, I almost feel some relief that there is something tangible at the root of xxxx’s struggles that we can do something about to help xxxx.

Katie

"Thank you so much for all your support and advice, I really don’t think I could have got here without you; I've really valued feeling that I could trust you both to be supportive and to be honest, and your knowledge and experience have been invaluable. I imagine (and hope) you hear it a lot but you really do a wonderful job and make a huge difference to people."
